MACOS

Devices, signals, and protection in one test environment.

Virtual WMUs, PMUs, IEDs, and power-system models recreate a digital substation. The dashboard shows device states and traffic while repeatable tests connect waveform generation to protection behavior. It runs on a PC without dedicated simulation hardware, for isolated test environments. The screens show simulated devices running in GridCORE.

MACOS

Change fault conditions. Inspect protection behavior.

Connect overcurrent and distance protection to trip delays and breaker opening. Track impedance against Mho zones on the R-X plane and evaluate correct operation, failure to trip, slow trip, overreach, and underreach. Overcurrent curves follow IEC 60255-151 and IEEE C37.112. In v0.1, distance protection targets three-phase loops; ground/line-fault residual compensation remains future work.

A Rust engine connected to interactive analysis tools.

The Rust engine connects three-phase waveforms, symmetrical-component fault analysis, and two-source line models to protocol encoders. Dedicated device threads combine sleep and spin scheduling; Linux supports real-time priorities. Timing depends on the operating system and runtime environment.

The desktop app combines Tauri 2 with React and TypeScript. WebSocket channels carry waveforms, phasors, and status to separate visualization modules. A Rust backend with Tokio and Serde connects to TanStack, Zustand, and i18next for state handling and localized interfaces.

L2 transport uses BPF on macOS, AF_PACKET on Linux, and Npcap on Windows, alongside TCP/UDP. R-SV supports HMAC-SHA256 authentication and AES-256-GCM encryption. YAML, PCAP/COMTRADE, JSON Lines, and Prometheus metrics connect repeatable tests to result analysis.

Repeatable tests. A defined verification scope.

Use the platform for substation training, protocol analysis, protection-setting studies, and PMU/PDC integration tests. CLI and headless modes support automated runs; YAML scenarios can generate CSV/COMTRADE datasets for protection research. L2 protocols require access to the relevant network environment.

Protocol verification in v0.1 includes BER-structure comparisons against public reference SV/GOOSE captures. These checks do not constitute certified IEC 61850-10 conformance. Dynamic timing, session behavior, and interoperability with specific vendor devices require separate testing.

The HIL connection path can feed an external GOOSE trip back into simulation state. Physical-relay interoperability validation, expanded live-traffic monitoring, and digital twins are tracked as subsequent development stages.
